CloudSync OÜ is an independent software company registered in Tallinn, Estonia (registration number 16482930). We build one product: a personal cloud backup tool that respects privacy by design.
The project started in 2023 as an internal tool for our founders' photo archives. After friends kept asking for access, we turned it into a public service. Today the team counts seven people: four engineers, two support specialists and one designer.
1. Encryption happens on the client. We store ciphertext only.
2. No advertising, no trackers, no data brokers. Revenue comes from subscriptions.
3. Minimal logs: we keep connection timestamps for abuse prevention and delete them after 30 days.
4. EU jurisdiction: all storage nodes are located in Germany and Finland.
Clients are written in Rust (desktop) and Swift/Kotlin (mobile). The sync protocol uses chunked transfer with SHA-256 content addressing, similar to content-addressable storage systems. Server side runs on PostgreSQL and S3-compatible object storage.
